There once was a dog named Bently,
Who went to stay with some friends.
The purpose to learn to be social,
And show to his Championship's end.
At first, the new world was scary,
Car rides, classes, and shows.
But adjusting he did very quickly,
Spoiled as only a Chihuahua would know!
And soon he was getting free roam of the house,
As long as he pottied on pads.
Going with Mommy everywhere,
Hanging out and walking, shopping with Dad.
But what do you do with a dog that has learned,
the "good things in life" are free?
"Don't put me in there, into my pen!
With everyone else I must BE!"
"Please, please don't shut me away!
Can't I be a bed-dog too?
No? NO? NO! You say?
Isn't there something I can do?"
"A HA! I know! That's the ticket,
that will convince them to let me in!
I'll CRY and BARK and WHINE all night,
Now when do I begin?
"1 O'Clock, 2 O'Clock, 3 O'Clock,
I think they're starting to cave!"
BAD DOG! BAD DOG!
Pretending I can't behave!
Finally, I see a light appear
and they must be coming for me!
Oh, no! Not that!
Crated for the rest of the night, I'll be.
Poor me, poor Bently!
Life is just too rough!
From sleeping in a cage with my brother,
To sleeping in goose-down fluff!
