Jemma's Mom

Today was a stressful day. I woke up finding Loppi really lifeless and she didn't seem to want to do ANYTHING. Usually, when I get up and greet her, she'd come pawing at my legs and running around but she stayed in her bed today. I saw vomit in her pet carrier and not long after, I realized that she had diarrhea. Her pee pad is downstairs but she couldn't even go down the stairs! She kept on whining until I brought her downstairs where she did her business and then patiently waited for me to bring her up again.
Instead of her usual breakfast, I fed her chicken and rice...she ate it after a while but went poopoo a whole lot more. By 2 in the afternoon, she was just not moving at all and her back legs didn't seem to be working for her - she had troubles getting up and about and needed my support to lift her back up before she could walk. I immediately called the vet, booked an appointment for 4:15, and worried until that time. The vet took her temperature and noticed her funny stiff walk on the back legs...she has a slight fever. The vet suspects that maybe she fell or something and injured her legs somehow..then I thought of a possibility...perhaps her diarrhea started late last night and in the rush of going downstairs to go potty, she fell. I told the vet that and she said it could be possible since stuff like this is stressful to the little ones and it could have made her weak enough to lose her balance or something. Well, of course after the vet pressed around to feel her tummy, she ended up going on the floor so her vet decided she might as well do a fecal sample. It was good that happened because she came back telling me that Loppi had an overgrowth of bacteria in her stomach. I can't remember what the name was but it started with a C. Anyway, she was sent home with 2 types of oral medication.
Loppi seems to be a little better now. She actually jumped up on me just a while ago and her tail started wagging again. Poor girl, she just seems so stressed out.
