Ok.. The vet got the food in for Hummie, Science Diet- Ultra.
This morning I felt terrible, I only left out the new dry dog food. I also put the cats food up on the table so they couldn't get to it. I felt horrible and they looked a little surprised :cry2: that was what was for breakfast. Everyone keep your fingers and paws crossed they won't starve to death before actually breaking down and eating the new allergy free food.
Hummie scratched all night long, actually drove me nuts for once! I ended up snuggling him and helping him scratch.

Hi Renata, I hope the new food makes a difference for Hummie. I know how your babies are picky eaters too, and I hope they eat it soon. All 3 of mine eat Science Diet Ultra and they actually like it. Well, Roman gives a disappointed look once in a while. The new ultra is very good and really works. Sheba's had skin problems and she is better than she has ever been It's the first time we've ever seen actual results from food. It took two weeks to see the complete difference.
Can he have a little chicken, or just the dry food for now? If and when he can, what I do is take a very small peice (one dice size) and grab the dry food with it and mush it up in my hands to coat the pieces of food. It's such a small amount of chicken, it all just grinds up to next to nothing.
I hope he feels better soon. That's so nice of you to help with "controlled" scratching to make him feel better. :)

Yesterday I was very proud of my babies because they did attempt to eat the new Allergy free diet I put out for them. Hercules was the first to try it and I made sure to make a big fuss of how yummy it was for him with each bite so that Hummie would do the same. They didn't clean their plate, but they were eating some of it. I was really afraid they would try a hunger strike on me. Course at dinner time I had to look at the saddest bunch of eyes while I was eating. Made me want to go out to eat so they wouldn't be witness to my not sharing of my dinner.

Stay strong Renata, you are doing a great job! If this food helps Hummie, he will be SO relieved!!! Has your vet recommended any sort of topical application just to help relieve the symptoms until their bodies get used to the new food? Heuser had food allergy-issues when he was about a year old and besides changing his diet (he's fine now as long as he is kept on none-chicken protein), we used a product called "Hylite" (most vets carry it) and it was an omega fatty acid spray that did wonders for his coat and itching-although it made him a bit greasy. I'll try to dig it up, I may still have it!

I'm going to the vet tomorrow morning to get his stitches out from his neutering and I'll get some lotion or spray then. My vet works out at the same gym that I do so luckily I can pick his brain about stuff without having to go in the office. LOL.
Hummie and Hercules once again did good on eating the dry food. Although they really don't eat out of their plates that much, but when I get home and sit in my chair, I bring some of it with me and set it on the side table and they seem to enjoy going over to it and picking off pieces and eating it in my lap.. Hey, whatever floats their boat and makes them want to eat is fine with me.
