Miss Tally is STILL in heat and so we went back to visit Nado for the third time yesterday to be sure and cover her enough times. They really only need to be bred one time as long as its the correct time, but it is really hard to determine just when that is so we just keep trying until she stops accepting the male. Hopefully, that will be the last time and the wait is on...We are already treating her like a little mother and we won't even know if she is pregnant or not for almost a month, lol!

On another note, I guess I shouldn't have doubted Heuser who is insisting that he can perform just fine. We were able to collect him last night so next time, I will be using him like I originally planned! Yeah! That is a relief, I just HAVE to have smooth coats too-I actually prefer them to long coats, its just that there aren't many smooths of good quality out there and I want to start with as nice as dogs possible to gain a good reputation.

We can always keep a girl from the litter and breed her to Heuser when she is old enough and after we get her Championship. Matt actually started looking at houses again and we are in the process of finding out information on kennel permits in a town just outside of Kansas City (we would have to move into a rural district in order to have more than 2-4 dogs).

It can't happen fast enough for me-I want like 20 chihuahuas running around!!!

PS-we didn't want to jinx ourselves but we started on whelping box plans just in case Miss Tally has become a "Mrs." and all my fingers and toes are crossed!

Yeah for Heuser. He rose to the occasion after all (pun intended).

Alyssa,
What do you do with the collection from Heuser? Does your vet keep it in storage?
We've got our paws crossed that Tally will have a positive within a month.

Hehehe, No, nothing that fancy! Don't tell him but for all his hard work, it got dumped down the drain! I just had to make sure that I would be able to do it next time and it worked out well. I could have had it frozen but there was no need since I have him here with me.

Lys, You, must be so excited. I could not stand this one month wait. I'd be lightly feeling her tummy every day. LOL

Shhh! Don't tell anyone, but we have been whispering "Two girls and a little boy" to her tummy every night, lol!!! When we got done breeding her, Barb (Nado's breeder) did that and says she "tells" them what she wants every time! My friend Heidi came over to see her and she whispered it to her too-we sure hope it works!

Hello!
Your chi's are beautiful. How long does your female stay in heat? Or does it vary? My gilr Chloe' is in her first one. Advice would be welcome.
