Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I clicked onto Wyldwear's forums to get my daily fix o' friends, all the loppy eared, satellite dish eared, freckled bellied, soft cuddly googly eyed chihuahuas I can eat up with envy and love! And, lo and behold, there's a sweet thread about my birthday! Thank you, Barb for remembering me and for your kind words. And, Renata, Hercules and Hummer, thanks to ya'll for making my upcoming birthday special too!
I am so thankful that my life has been blessed with my son, my chihuahuas, and my friends.
I'm divorced from Thomas (yuck, what took me so long to ditch that zero???) after 8 years of hoping he would appreciate me and love me for just being silly, zany me. I came across a friend I haven't seen since high school and we have been on a few incredible dates this week, 21 years after enjoying a fun-filled class of picking on each other, trading witty cut-downs, and laughing til we had stomach aches in our junior year. He and I bumped into each other (ok, it was because we both had profiles on Americansingles.com...) and now we are finding that the years may have passed but the banter is still really cool and there's plenty to giggle about. I'm taking it slowly, and Greg is too. Yay.
Zachary is doing beautifully academically and his Bar Mitzvah brought my siblings to town, and ended the family fued, to which I was a victim of. My brothers and sister hadn't spoken to us for 3 lonely years, and now they realize that my mom is the one who is at fault, not me, so they have maintained contact and invited us to Providence and Atlanta to visit.
Cookie and Brownie are always there for me, welcoming me at the front door, even when I have just gone downstairs to grab the mail. We snuggle constantly.
I am working on a wallsized painting for the backdrop to the school's production of "Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." I've finished sewing Joseph's coat, and this mural is turning out to be time consuming but really worth the effort. The Sphinx has glow-in-the-dark eyes, and the pyramids I've created are colorful with glittered paint.
It's still gorgeously breezy outside, and winter has brought the changing of the leaves to Charleston...ahhh, my favorite season.
Take care, all, and give your chihuahuas an extra kiss from your almost 39-year old friend!!!!

Thanks, Sharon! Give that sweet Lucky a kiss from his Aunt Zoe and cousins, Cookie & Brownie.
I didn't ask for anything for my birthday --I'm finally on top of the world. My health issues and car injuries have mended or are manageable, I am back to walking a few miles each morning, still eating healthy and discovering that losing just the 73 pounds is ok...that falling short of my goal of a 100 pound weight loss is still worthy of my own recognition. I am focused on taking off these last 27 pounds but I am also very grateful that my diabetes is not kicking up, and that I have a wonderful life, without the emotional pain and chaos I was in. There is no contact with my mom, which has given me back my sanity.
Thanks again for your birthday wish! :)

I wouldn't miss this one for the world!

Zoe,
First of all, happy birthday! Second of all, thank you. Thank you for being an truly remarkable, strong, and brillant woman! Not only are you a wonderful mother to both a great son and two chihuahuas, but also a vivacious, curvy, delightful (and beautiful) woman who has seen her fair share (and then some!) of struggles and managed to come out on top. Add to that an amazing artist and you top the cake as one of the most inspirational people I have ever met! Have fun this day celebrating your 39th birthday and keep on being the person you are-you are wonderful!
Alyssa and the Wawatwosies!

Oh my gosh! You two, Alicia and Alyssa, just made my day! I feel like a zillion bucks. I never think of myself as resilient, but I do know my sense of humor will not be squelched by some really unfortunate circumstances.
I am being the Nanny 911 this weekend, taking care of a brother/sister Dynamic Duo while their parents are in Miami. We are having sooooo much fun, making our own Bratz fashion show, homemade commercials, microwavable dehydrated fruits, and just randomly being silly. I've just stopped to check this site, and to scoop up Cookie and Brownie so they can go with me, Zachary, Joseph & Melanie to their house. They have a gentle, older arthritic, deaf black labrador (Katy) and a spastic, lovable long haired daschund bundle o' joy (Dexter) who absolutely dance around my chihuahuas happily. It will be a slumber party. woot woot!!!
Thanks again for the birthday wishes, ya'll!
