Hey everyone.. I've started a new diet (again) this time I've been on it for 10 days and 100% effort. I've already lost 9 lbs! My goal is to loose a total of 45 lbs! Anyway.. so far this SBD has been pretty good and I'm really liking the fact I've seen some results.. Anyone else out there have any experience with this diet or also doing it and want to be a SBD buddy?

Let me know!

Thats great news Renata - congratulations on your fantastic effort:razz:

I dont know what the south beach diet is ??
I tried the no carbs diet but failed, I just love my carbs:oops:
Im terrible when it comes to diets, I try but when my 'monthly friend' comes to visit it all goes out the window and I end up eating piles of chocolate:roll:
Im going to try and loose the chub before im 30 but time is running out LOL

Congratulations Renata! You're doing great! I miss our old diet/exercise thread.

That's a good food plan. I've checked it out, It's got too much carb in it for me and causes cravings and hunger with me like Weight Watcher's did when I was on that plan. I have an extreme carb problem.

So I can't be your SBD buddy, but I'm strict on my Atkins plan, lost 4 lbs. these past few days, so I'll sure join in. Mine diet's pretty much the same with "good carbs" minus the wheat flour products. I have to use soy flour to keep me from being so hungry and low blood sugar. So if it's alright, I can offer support and use all the support I can get for my lbs. I need to get off.

Since I started my new job duties at the library I have been working very hard removing old books from the shelves. This requires climbing on and off foot stools and bending and kneeling on the floor. I also have to box up the books for the custodians to throw out. I have begun to gradually lose weight. I am also more stimulated by the job and so I am happier. When I am happier I eat less.

I have a huge problem with saying I am on a diet. I just find I finally get in a place where I am "eating less and moving more". I have very very small goals as well. For the next few weeks I'll be happy to lose 3lbs. That gets me to an even number which I won't disclose.;) I try not to think about more than 5lbs at a time. If I think of larger goals I get nervous and start to eat more.:cry2:

Everyone is doing so well with their eating and exercising,
good work Renata, Barb and Faye:razz:

Its spring, nearly summer here and I have just tried on my long shorts that I love wearing when its hot and they are to tight to do up:cry2: Its time to stop eating the meat pies and snacks infront of the heater and get outside and do some exercise

Terri, That's exactly what scared me half to death. I've been living in comphy elastic waist shorts because it's been so hot, and I haven't gone anywhere at all. I had to go see my back doctor for a check up, went to put my jeans on and there was NO WAY the ends would meet! haha I even did the ol "lie down on the bed to zip them up"...not a chance. Thank Goodness Terry had a big pair in the back of his closet, or I would have had to wear my sweat pants on a hot day. So as long as we catch these set backs, it's much better. I'm in boot camp training now. LOL http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/treadmill.gif http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/wiggle.gif

Oh Renata, I found a SBD recipe for you...

Southwestern Chicken

Chicken breast
FF mozzerella or Swiss cheese sliced
Green onion
Tomoto chopped

Bake chicken in oven and in last 10 mins top with cheese, onion, and tomato. Fresh ground black pepper on top is good if you like it that way. :)

I have heard the South Beach works wonders.....I have the book, but that is as far as I have gone...I am thinking of joining Curves, because I am a Carb eater too...and trying to cut out carbs is almost impossible for me. I have done Weight Watchers too, and really like it.

Oh Barb.. that recipe sounds yummy I'll have to try it the next time I make chicken.

I have now been on my 'diet' or temporary life changing eating plan for two weeks and I feel a big improvement in the way my clothes are fitting. My pants are loose! LOL!
Yesterday I went to the gym and worked out on cardo.. my sister-in-law and I are going to do a monthy gym membership and our goal is to go three times a week. Although I'm not sore today, I do know that I got my heart rate up yesterday because I had a good 'glow' going on... or in other words I was sweating! So who knows... Like I mentioned earlier I wanted to loose some weight to get prepared for our vacation this March to Nassau. I want to wear a cute bathing suit and not an old lady suit!

Renata, Nassau is such a great goal to work for, and the gym sounds nice. It sounds like you're doing extremely good and going to keep at it.

We're in the process of finding the perfect spot in the house for the tread mill--maybe in front of the refrigerator so I have to walk two miles to get there.
