Yeah I do too.... I'm trying to be very strong but her face is just so cute!
I don't think she'd be very big her sire is about 2 1/2 lbs. her mother is about 4 1/2 lbs
She is currently 9wks and 1 1/2 lbs

I'm just not sure if Naz and a chi would be a good match together..... He tries to play with the cats jumping etc and they are about 10lbs..... and HATE HIM lol
I don't think a little chi could handle that

She is very pretty and has a nice stance. Besides her pedigree, are her knees ok etc. that is what it really comes down to, her health. As far as big dog with small dog... When I moved into my apartment building this family had a Yorkie male and a pit bull. Well the Yorkie was the Alpha dog and told that pit bull to behave himself as the Yorkie had been the first dog in the family. But Naz was with you first and he is still a young rambunctious young dog.

However, Naz might just be a cat chaser and not chase the new dog. My Sammie chases the cats but she will not chase Gracie.

They sure would look good together. All those brown and white complimentary colors... Good luck with your decision, Faye

$900 is not bad at all if shipping is included....

purebred chihuahuas run anywhere from about $600 and up..and shipping is about $200 so i think its not bad at all

Just to add my two cents, $900 is very good with shipping included. On Long Island pet store chis are going for $1,200 to $1400 with sales tax added on. You usually get sent to a vet that has a deal with the store for free shots etc. And these are NOT purebreds. I don't even know the prices of pures from any breeders in this area.

$900 sounds like a good deal to me too. I payed $900 for Buffy and she didn't have to be shipped to me( I got her locally at a pet store). I also look at it as "well worth the money", you will have a great companion for many years to come.

Hi Bren! I'm back!!! We moved and our cable JUST got rehooked up!!!

As far as the puppy goes, I'm glad you didn't get her. First of all $900 for a pet puppy is RIDICULOUS!!! For that price, you could buy an already finished Champion that is too small to breed and needing a good pet home!!! Pet stores and other irresponsible breeders charge those high prices to an ususpecting public that don't know any better! For instance, Heuser's breeder charges $300-$500 for Pet Quality Males and $500-$800 for Females. It depends on their overall health, type, headset, etc. I will do the same when Tally has puppies.

Second of all-what you see is what you get. If you're not crazy about the dam/sire, then the puppy is not for you. From what I can see, the pup will have a very similar headset and expression as its parents and from a show breeder's point of view, not a very good one. Most believe that breeding non-champion parents, bloodlines should be the exception, not the norm and good reasons must be supplied as to why they are not titled-for instance, neither Heuser's dam or sire were Champions but that is because his mom weighs 6.1 lbs (too big for the ring) and his father broke a front leg as a puppy that healed crookedly. But all the rest of the dogs in his pedigree are.

In a conformation sense, the puppy is not show quality as of right now. I don't know that bloodline (Pittore's is the only decent name in the pedigree) or how they develop but most experts agree that puppies are often miniature versions of what they will become at the 8-9 week stage. That being said, her topline is roached (not level) her tail is to curled, and her ears are set too low. Also, I for one prefer a more feminine face on my bitches. I can't tell about her legs since I'd need both a full front and back shot of them and also her bite may be all over the place.

And finally, ANY BREEDER THAT REGISTERS OTHER THAN AKC should be regarded WITH EXTREME CAUTION!!! As it is, an AKC registration can mean little (since commercial breeders/mill can and do register their dogs), let alone someone that doesn't even have legitimate papers on dogs or bothers enough to register them!!!

I am reading a GREAT book (Barb can attest to it since she is a fan of the Chihuahuas for Dummies Book) called Breeding Dogs for Dummies. Although it goes into alot of detail, the author is world-renowned judge Richard Beauchamp (I've shown under him) and he is very good at present his case without sounding harsh or too opinionated (I know, I know, I'm trying!!!)

Also, I for one prefer a more feminine face on my bitches.

Well Well well....I'm just putting in my 25cents worth!

I will be laughing about that sentence for weeks to come!!
Thanks for the chuckle.

In all seriousness Lys, well said. Very diplomatic and informative. I look at the pics and haven't got a clue??
I enjoyed reading your thoughts!
Still tho....I will be saying "Also, I for one prefer a more feminine face on my bitches." for a long time. It cracks me up!!!! HeeHee!

Cheers
