Well, Heuser is about 90% better (just needs to gain alittle bit of confidence in being touched/held/picked up back) and Matt and I are very relieved and happy!!! He is doing really well and had his first bath since the attack AND even let me trim the hair between his pads and sand down his nails! I thought you guys might like to see some new pictures of him all better and of course, I couldn't forget about Miss Tally!

Wow, H looks back to his old self with his beautiful smile and sweet expression. And Tally is indeed a true princess. All her pics are perfect. I love how her lips go up to meet her nose. Very sweet looking. Thank you so much for the new pics. Faye.

I'm so glad he's feeling better. I hope the confidence comes back soon. It takes a while when they get spooked or ummm attacked!!!

That picture of Tally called Waiting for Prince Heuser is a winner. I would blow that up into posters and make a mint!

Ahw, thanks for all the nice replies guys! It is nice getting back to "normal" life with Heuser and he is doing wonderful! He still screams for a split-second when I pick him up sometimes but even that is getting better and he only does in getting into the car and at home. I have been able to start grooming him again and so far (working slowly and taking breaks of course) have been able to trim his hair between his pads, grind his nails, trim his whiskers, shave his ears, and shape his pants. Just need to brush teeth and trim his belly/privates, not bad!!!

HA! I know, it sounds crazy!

Smooth Coat Chihuahuas actually need MORE grooming than Longs in the show ring. Both coats are bathed and brushed and the hair in their ears removed by either a little scissors or a beard/mustache trimmer-hence my reference to "shave" his ears on the inside only close to his head. Then I clip back and shape his ruff (around his neck) and pants along the back of his hind legs to give him a more clean and tidy appearance with a thinning shear (just like they use on human hair at the saloon, it looks like a pair of scissors that has teeth). I also trim the hair along his inner/back of his legs and his belly/private parts so he has a clean outline.

Since we're not showing any time soon, I'll let him grow out a bit and take before and after pictures so everyone can see how much it makes a difference.

Mmmmm...I myself can see 'pants' on Oreo cuz he's a long coat but I have seen many short coated Chi's (not groomed for the show ring) but they don't seem to have ANY pants or ruff...or even hair *IN* their ears...well...maybe a tiny bit but hardly can see. Do you by chance have any pics of Heuser ...ummm...hee hee hee with his pants on!!! :w00t:
He always looks so good cuz I've never seen him with his pants ON!! :moon: LOL!!

GREAT PICS Lys!!! There were a few that I couldn't open for some reason but the ones I saw were absolutely beautiful!!!! I read the story and again I am so sorry and that gave me great relief to see the pics of Mr. H looking good. Thank you.

Mypepsee-I downsize the original image size to 30% on my editing program and then transfer it to Photobucket. That way, the pixel size is much smaller and I just add them to my posts...I'm not that good at it all either and couldn't even tell you what editing program I use...

Oh, and I did something silly that's why you can't see all the pics anymore. I erased some from my photobucket file to make is smaller and didn't realize that by doing so, it would take them off of here-OOPS!
