We have to evacuate and leave..... the hurricane is going to go right over Brevard county where I live and most likely will lose everything......

My Aunt and Uncle live in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and they are in the way of landfall...i haven't talked to them so i don't know if they are leaving or not...but will try t call and email them to get some updates from them

i talked to my Aunt and Uncle in Florida today and they are fine...they rode out the storm in their house but they are ok...no damage was done to there house...there is alot of damage to their area but they are ok...they have no electricity and don't know when they will get power back but they are ok....they are still getting heavy rains today and expect it will last probally untill tomorrow...but the winds have died down quite a bit...but i'm glad they are safe and sound....

Sharon, It good news to hear they're alright. I hope the worst is over for them because I always wonder about that "rebound" part of a hurricane--like a double wammy! It's always a pain not to have power-hope they get that back soon too!

theres another hurricane heading there way....hurricane Ivan...they say it will hit Florida within the next 10 days or so...i'm glad i don't live there...but feel bad for all those that do...

I just checked Ivan's path (the newest hurricane out there) and it appears we (FL) are
going to be hit AGAIN! Except this storm currently stronger and is a cat 5 with 160 mph +
winds.....
It so better change paths!
I am so OVER living in FL that if it weren't for the military we would of
moved by now!

90% of the homes in Grenada are devastated by Ivan. My soon-to-be exhusband is from St. John's there, so all his family lives there---his mom, his brother, grandma, and all his aunts & uncles, and cousins. He can't get in touch with them at all, so he is waiting to find out what has happened to them. :(

i heard because the hurricane is moving so slow now...that there still is a chance that it can change course still....so i would stay prepared just in case...and watch it very close
