I'm going back to school !!!

I am starting school September 8th to become a LNA ( Licensed Nurses Assistant ) i am so happy !!! its costing me an arm and a leg but hey its well worth it...its $1,200.00 for the course...it takes 6 weeks then i take my final state exam on November 10th !!!! i only go to class 2 days a week on Wed and Thurs...3-11pm so its good wish me luck !!!!

Hi Sharon, That is such good news. You will never regret going to school. The money you spend on school will increase your options and your income for the rest of your life. Who knows what will come your way next once you are working in your new field. Good luck with the classes and studying.

Wow, good for you Sharon!!! That sounds like a great opportunity for you, and I'm sure Lucky will LOVE that you are going to spoil him silly for leaving him for a couple of days, lol!!! I always thought it would be neat to do therapy work with one of my dogs, would Lucky do that kind of thing? That would be super-cool, maybe you could get away with taking him to work with you once in a while to do patient rounds!

Is this similar to a CNA? (Certifed nurses assistant)
I know the red cross offers that coarse here for 600 so it may be cheaper if its the same to check with them.. I'd hate for you to spend more if you could get the training for cheaper.
I work as a certified medical assistant for an ob/gyn and I love the medical field and am sure you will too.... I wish you the best!

The state has chamged...it used to be called a CNA...now its called LNA...i'm going through the course through my moms friend that use to work with her...$1,200.00 covers the class the book and my state exam...and my license...thats why its so much...

my first day was great !! i really do think i will enjoy it....and yes i have been swamped with homework of reading and 10 questions test its alot of work for a 6 week class....


today i work on the floor doing a clinical from 3-11 working with 2 residents so that should be fun !!!

My best friend is a nurse and has so many interesting stories, I think its a job that never gets boring.

My best story of the month is one of our OB patients who was nearing her term (meaning due date) came in for her routine OB appt.
The lady was well dressed in a dressy dress.... I get her back in the room go over the reg questions etc and then ask her to undress from bottoms down.
Well as I was handing her, her drape and step out the lady yanks up her dress and wah Laa I see she is naked and the pt informs me in the same flash that she didn't wear any underwear because she came prepared to have this KID today (LOL) That she was done being pregnant and it was time to get this kid out!
I about DIED laughing!!!!!! IT was soooo funny! I went out and told the doc and she laughed too... needless to say she wasn't ready and we had to send her home but she did deliver a few days later....

well i took my first test at school tonight and i got 100% on it !!!! so thats a good thing...i really like my class...its fun and i really enjoy talking to all the residents....my next test is on October 6th...wish me luck
