Hey everyone, I know there have been a few of you that have had their babies on nutro. I was wondering if you'd recommend it. I'm thinking about switching the kids on over to nutro, they really don't seem to like the wellness, and I heard nutro was good too. So for all you experienced nutro feeders, any input would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hey JenJen, I have all of mine on Science Diet and a dab of Pedigree canned to coat it.
Years ago, before Chihuahus, we fed Nutro to all of our dogs for years, but SD was reccomended to us by our veterinarian, and they have all loved it and done very well and all stayed healthy.
The reasons we wanted to change off of Nutro is they were throwing up all the time, and they didnt want it anymore. That stopped with the SD. By any means, I'm not saying that Nutro is bad, or that it will cause that; it was just like that for our dogs. I know a lot of people who have fed it, and their dogs love it.
Also, I've seen Nutro in small sample packs, so you don't have to waste a lot of money on bags of food to try it. :)

Before Loppi was switched onto the Mountain Dog Food diet, she was on Nutro Chicken, Rice, and Oatmeal (I think? Can't remember the label! Anyway, it was chicken). She loved the taste of that and it was the only dry food she would eat willingly without being forced. She wasn't on that long enough for me to see if her overall health improved, but nonetheless, it had to be better than not eating properly like how she had been acting before!

I guess it's a little tricky when deciding what type of dog food to feed the babies huh? There are so many different opinions, I guess we'll just have to try and see.
Barb, we used to have them on SD but they didn't enjoy it too much, and Alana wasn't really benefiting from that. She has benefited from the Wellness though, that I can say. But I wanted to try Nutro.
Thanks ladies for your info. I think maybe we'll give nutro a try. I'll read up more about it first though. Thanks again.

Hi,
My boys were on Nutro for over a year. I am trying them now on "Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul". It's a good food, with lots of good ingredients. What impressed me the most is their is no foul odor to it. It's small bite size kibble, perfect for chihuahuas. Since I've been feeding it, my boys have had noticably shiner coats. Check it out at http://chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com

Hi. I did feed Toby and Taco Nutro for a while, but they were both very picky with it. When I got Taz, she was eating Science Diet, so I though that would be a good time to change Toby and Taco to SD. They all LOVE it!!! Toby would eat a whole bag, but I can't allow that. He was very picky, before, and would barely eat, now he won't stop eating.

Cookie and Brownie give a "four paws up" to the NATURAL BALANCE Ultra- Premium Dog Food by Dick Van Patten. Its all natural, and they have Lite, Vegetarian, and Sweet Potato and Duck kibbles. The latter is the most preferred by my chihuahuas, but I take along a little Ziploc of the vegetarian kibbles when we go to the park...always a big hit with my pooches, who think it's a treat and scramble for every single nugget that I place within their greedy open mouths. They have shiny coats, never a gross soft poopie, and the vet says they are doing well. It's found at SuperPetz in our local area, and probably is sold all over.
I guess the old Bradford dad was good for something beyond those boring lectures to his Eight is Enough brood!!!
