How hard could this be? Buy a mini pink retractable, get some crystals at a craft store, buy some GemTac and glue them on? Seal it with some special coating? I think I might try this :) I could certainly make one for less than this ridiculous asking price! ;)

That is how a lot of my projects turn out, lol. I get so frustrated, so after I spend $50 on supplies for this stupid project, I give up and drop $150 on the object I was trying, lol.

Thanks! So far I've got one side done and I'm letting it dry. Doesn't look half bad either!! The only "bad" thing was that Petco didn't have a little pink one. I really wanted pink but for my first try I don't care lol!

Well here's the first side. It really doesn't take very long, and the GemTac dries clear- it's still drying in the middle of the heart though. I bought an already made heart decal to glue into the center, and put the other clear gems around it. I ran out of gems so I need to get more, but it's going to have to wait until next week because I'm going home this weekend :) But after I completely finish the whole thing, I'll top it off with a clear varnish to protect it.

That's so beautiful. I love it, Meredith.:) I made a mini retractable for Elle a while back, but it's not as filled in as yours yet. I had to use a red. I ran out of gems and so only used red heart shaped gems on mine so far and was thinking of filling it in seed beads, since I have "millions" of them. Good idea to varnish for protection. I had not thought of that--that's why I have been afraid to use it.

I have seen pink retractable at Target in the past, but I haven't been there in a while.

Well I felt very stupid today- I found a pink flexi lead at WalMart for a lot cheaper than at Petco. Something told me to look there first but I was already at Petco and I just bought the other one that day. So now I learned my lesson :P

But I did buy a pink one today, and so I've got these two finished. The pink one has the heart decal on both sides, and swarovski crystals on the border. The black one has the heart on one side and a crown on the other :)

Same here, I love big Sr dogs but I never cared much for large breed puppys.lol The two Danes im fostering drive me crazy. They are only 10months and already 160 and 140. The largest of the two once jumped me from behind and caused me to hit a tree and black out. When I came to my Pit Missy was on him like glue and his brother was sittng there drooling on my face.>_<

LOL! Danes are funny like that- they seem so much more energetic than mastiffs. Sigmund is SO calm all the time. He never jumps on anyone, he just sits around :) My cousin has a dane though and he's generally pretty calm. He's a great dog too
