View Full Version : Should I click the button?

Well I've got this star in pink sapphire sitting in this shopping cart here, and I'm debating whether or not to click the stupid button!
http://www.here-kittykitty.com/crysstaridta.html
Would anyone like to sway me to one side or the other? Yes, it's a ridiculous price, but it would be worn on a necklace (not on a collar) or attached to a harness, and it would be her ID tag that she'd wear all the time if we were outside the house. Also, it would be her Christmas gift. Sigmund is getting a Blocky Dogs collar and leash (they hand-make heavy duty collars and leashes for heavy duty dogs lol!), a new black ultra kong, some bully sticks and some stuffed animals. The new baby will get this tag attached to a necklace that I made her already (made it from a sterling silver chain that I got at a second hand shop- I cut the chain in half, bought attacher things and turned them both into about 8" necklaces for the Chi!), lots of little stuffed toys, and hopefully some harnesses and vests from the lovely ladies on here. I have to make sure I split the costs evenly because you can't favor one child over the other, obviously ;) The stuffed toys are already taken care of, and between both of their things that I need to buy, the costs would be about equal that one doesn't feel like s/he got more than the sister/brother.
Before you say it, I do fully and 100% realize that I'm a bit looney in the brain. I just can't help it though. I can't live thinking I favor one "child" over the next, because even though I KNOW dogs' feelings don't necessarily get hurt, in my delusional brain, I think they feel sad. The end. LOL no flaming me!!! :funny:
I don't think you are looney in the brain at all. Mine do seem to notice when one gets something the other doesn't. I would say if you like it, and that's what you want, go for it! :) It's beautiful by the way!

Thanks! I swear Sigmund comprehends everything I say and do, and he's so sensitive it would make ME cry if I ever felt he was left out. He might not get clothes and carriers but he is spoiled rotten!! For example, just a second ago he was whining at me, and I looked and his food bowl was in the way of his water and he wanted me to move it for him. As soon as I moved it he went right to his water! He's such a baby!!
I think it's gorgeous too :) It would get a lot of use, definitely, if I can attach it to a necklace or harness!

Poor Siggy, he just wanted his water Mama. Mine seem to comprehend what I say too. I don't know if they relate certain words to certain things. But they always seem to know exactly what I mean. I'm like you, it makes me feel very sad when one of mine are down.
I'm sure the tag will attach to any D ring, right?

Yep nothing like personifying dogs, right? Every single thing I've read says DON'T do that. But I can't help it. I know it's bad but I can't think of him as "just a dog"!
I think it comes with just one of those annoying round thingys that you have to use a knife to pry open to get it around the D ring. My plan was to get a well made lobster claw type attachment so it could easily move from D ring to necklace.
That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure it can be easily attached. If not you can take it to a jewelry store to have it put on.

Did you click??? I know that other people probably think we're nuts to spend so much on a "dog" but when they're your babies, money is no object, at least in my opinion! My boyfriend and I are reproductively challenged, so that means no babies for us. Because of this, our chi's have become our babies and that's why I lavish so much on them.

better yet..... I vote go to walmart and find a knock off that looks just like it but half or 75% less of that price..... :)
But it is your money so if you can afford it ..... go for it but I'd recommend making sure other places don't have it for a better price.

Way ahead of ya!!! Already checked there, Claire's and Piercing Pagoda. PP actually has some cute charms but nothing like this one.
And nope I haven't clicked yet!!! Whenever it involves more than about $20-30, I always ruminate on it for a while ;) I might have a better answer next weekend too ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Yup I hear you! It's funny, I won't spend a NICKEL on myself because I feel bad. But the kids? Completely different story!
I'm glad your Chis are your babies :) Honestly sometimes I think dogs are the best children!!!!!

I know....before we got Chewy, I would spend money on myself....clothes, shoes, pocketbooks....but since we got him, all my money goes towards him, and now Lilibell. But it's so worth the money, they have to be styling like their Momma!!

That is so pretty. If you click don't put your address on it as an ID because if you move you will have wasted your money. But if you are going to use it for a very long time...I say go for it. Or get an inexpensive ID tag and use the money to buy 10 toys.

Meridth I would say f you are sure you are going to use it get it but if there is nay hesitant that you will not and it will this be sitting somewhere looking pretty no. I know my izzie would have a fit having something hanging down on her she is stil so tiny everything seems to borrow her that hangs I can't even put her rabies tags on her because she want to chew them and it I put it on the harness she want to stracth.Patty

Well, I've decided I'm going to get one! BUT- on the original site for these, it says to call and see about tags with slight imperfections, that they're about 1/2 the price! So I called and left a message, so hopefully I'll be able to get one for less expensive :)

Sorry, I came a little late on this one. Usually when I go shopping, I buy things that I can't live without (I can live without them, but I don't want to!), whether it be a shirt, shoes, purse, something for Bianca..whatever, I buy it. This is the only life you have girl, and if it means that much to you, I'd have said do it! (since you've already made your mind up, then I say WOOHOO!!

Hey cool!! Maybe you'll get one that barely has anything wrong with it at a way smaller price!! Like the Sears Distribution Center!!

WOOO!!! I just ordered my tag!!!!!!!! I'm SO excited! I called their customer service and they were SO NICE!!!!! No menu that says "press this button"--real people, a small company in CA that hand makes and hand places all the jewels! So the woman checked and found a small silver star with pink sapphires that had slight imperfections- And she said the imperfections were most likely small scratches on the back of the tag that sometimes even the jewelers have trouble seeing, but they won't sell anything for the $70 price tag unless it's completely 100% perfect.
So I bought one for $34.95!!! I'm so excited- that's such a great price on something that's completely hand made in the US, with amazing customer service to boot, and with a tiny scratch no one can see! I only got my phone number engraved on the back. If I really like this tag, I'll never order from anyone else!
I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! Yep ;) It would have taken a few more weeks of convincing if I had to pay the high price tag. Now I know I can get anything from them at that cheaper price though, and I won't have to really think about it. The next one I want is the red white and blue star, which she already told me they have with a slight imperfection! But that and other tags will have to wait until I see the quality of this one :)
And Leey, yep of course I'll take pics!
Whoever I get for the gift exchange this Christmas just might get one ;)
