Saw this outfit on EBay this morning...at Platinum Puppy Couture. I so love this store, she has the cutest outfits. This outfit also has a matching hat and leash. Hmmm, could this be the first dress for Lilibell? Let the shopping begin...Weeee!

that dress is gorgeous, but i get the feeling i have seen it before.

If i am not mistaken it either looks exactly like or very similar to a dress that Teresa bought for Lexie!

That is the same dress Teresa bought for Lexie and I also have that same dress that I had bought for Roxy. They are cute but her sizing is a little off. I bought 8 outfits from her. Here are some of the other ones I got from her.

Oh they are cute! I especially love that last pic of them posing all together in their finery. I'm so tempted to order it right now, but just not sure what size exactly I should get. I think I'll just wait until she is home. Besides, it's way too hot in August to be dressing her up, so she'll be running around naked for a while!

I bought that same dress for Lexie's Birthday. It is very pretty! I actually bought 2 of the same ones. Her sizes are kinda screwy. The XS will fit a pup between 1 1/2 lbs. (will be a bit big on this size), to I'd say 2 1/2 lbs. comfortably. The small will fit from about 3 lbs., to maybe 4 1/2. It will have some growing room for a 3 to 3 1/2 lb. pup. The way they are made you have no room for adjustments. The velcro down the front is a very narrow piece that comes from their neck, to the bottom of their stomach. The sizes aren't consistent either. Anyway, with all of that said, she does beautiful work! As long as you get it big enough, you are good to go. They can always grow into them. :) The dress looks beautiful on as well!

Here are my girls wearing them.

The last picture is Gia wearing the XS right after I got her. That will give you an idea of how the XS fits on 1 lb. 4/5 oz. at that time. It fits much better now at 1 lb. 9/10 oz. Hope this helps some. She charges a fee to return or exchange. :)

You know, I remember seeing these pics! Thanks for the sizing info. But after thinking on it, I'm going to hold off on ordering really nice stuff until she's done growing. I learned my lesson with Chewy...never having to dress a dog, I got him so many cute things when he was still little and now he's outgrown them all....grrrr! So I've got to rein myself in for at least 2 months? I figure by the time she'll stop growing, it'll be fall and then I can let loose and buy winter clothes for her.

You're welcome! I don't blame you for waiting until she's done growing. Saves a lot of money. I think most of them are happy to be naked anyway.

[sigh] Yes, I saw that one too. I think before the day is done I'm going to break down and have to buy at least 1 dress! I can already feel it!!

One won't hurt. My spree is supposed to be over, but I bought another dress a few days ago. I also have my eye on a few others. I'm <sighing> over here too. This could become an addiction.

"Could become?" For me, it already is! Steve is always grumbling when I come home with a new outfit for Chewy, although because it's been so hot out I haven't bought anything new in a while.

 I have done real good about not buying to many clothes up until recently. My fur babies didn't really like them. Now that they'll wear them without a fuss, I have collected a wardrobe over here. I get such good deals on the stuff I buy that I just can't pass it up. I'm a sucker for a sale. When you can get lil clothes for 5/10 dollars a piece, that's a steal. I have paid more for a few things, but most of their stuff hasn't cost me much.

Chewy took to wearing clothes no problem. Maybe it's because when we first got him it was at the end of February and was cold out, so right away he was wearing sweaters. Although a couple of weeks ago when I was seeing which outfits he had outgrown he was fighting with me when I was trying to put them on. I don't know if it was because they were too small or if he just did not want them on! I'm going to have to get Lilibell used to wearing clothes right away.

I have been looking at outfits, and i am just weary of buying anything until after hes grown. I already had a lady making me some outfits that she said would be really small. but, i just got the pictures and they look to big around.. I hate to buy things that i cannot try on him first.

If I were you, I would hold off on buying a ton of outfits until he's all done growing. You can start off now with a couple. The ones you already got and look too big....he can grow right into them! Like I said previously, I learned my lesson when I bought some really cute outfits for Chewy and he grew right out of them. For now, I would start with store bought clothes, but wait until you get Cupid. The sizings in all dog clothes run really weird. 2 outfits that are the same size are really not! And it's impossible to try on clothes in a store. What I usually do is bring a shirt with me that I know fits him and just hold it up to others. Another thing, look for shirts where the underneath is a little shorter than the top. Because they are boy dogs, they need the underneath to be shorter so they can pee and not pee all over the outfit! (yeah, I learned this one the hard way too!)

The first 6/7 months is when they do most of their growing. If you buy a lot of the XXS, they'll probably be a waste of money. I agree, the same size clothes don't always fit the same. One XS may be smaller than the other. It's just so hard to pass them up when you see them, I know. I only bought a few of the XXS thank goodness. But it worked out pretty good cause now Gia can wear them.

Studd was born Nov.30th. We got him at six weeks & I had got him alot of small cothes cause we was going into winter time. Now he cant wear any of those clothes so now I will have a get time buying him a whole new set of clothes for the up coming winter!! He dont mind wearing them as long as they dont itch lol :)

I knew that I was going to weaken as the day went on!!! Yes, I broke down and bought something from Platinum Puppy. Not the dress I originally saw though, I am saving on buying that one until Lilibell is done growing. But I did get this one, in the smallest size.

the outfits are lovely and you guys are so lucky as it is so difficult to find nice stuff for coco here. I buy her clothes ( she does not look good in dresses so I dress her in hoodies ) whenever I travel esp to Bangkok where they have lots of clothes for really small dogs like her. I am just unsure of the sizes on the net. must check out Platinum Puppy. where can I order shoes for coco and do they come in her small size (she is approx, 2.5lbs )thanks, lilian

Lilian, you should check out eBay. They have a lot of really small dog clothes. You can find lil shoes/boots for her size too. Most of the sellers on eBay have a size chart for their custom clothes. You can take your babies measurements and order her size from there. :)

Awww that's definitely a winning shirt!! I have SO many clothes for my new baby, it's almost disgusting. I should take pictures and post but you all would think I was absolutely insane...more insane than you already think i am because I'm here without a Chi yet LOL! ;) But they're all girl clothes, so I'm definitely getting a girl or else the poor little boy would have a complex! And I've been buying a few steadily over the last few years if I'd see a sale, mostly at Claire's cuz they had a pet section. I bought a few more recently though because I can almost smell the puppy breath!! I end up buying XS stuff. If it fits, great, if not, it won't be the last Chi I have, so I'll either save it or pass it on to someone on here :)

Meredith, I think you'll be fine with XS. She might not be able to wear it when she comes home (to big), but that just means she'll be able to wear it through adulthood. Stretches your money a lot further for sure.

That's exactly what I thought too :) And if they don't fit, we just make a quick run to Petco or some place that has realllllly tiny stuff!

Sounds like an excellent plan! Your sewing has become so incredible, I think you could probably whip up some stuff that would fit her tiny body perfectly. :)

I don't think we would think that you're insane silly!! It's so much fun buying girl clothes, much more fun than buying boy clothes. Believe me, I've had to rein myself in from buying alot for Lilibell.....just want to wait until she's done growing, which is going to be torturous for me, LOL!!
