So today I made a carrier and a dress to match. The carrier was the WORST thing ever to make so god bless everyone who hand-makes carriers!!! First, I kinda think I made it wrong...I ended up improvising a lot because the directions didn't make sense to me...and while it came out semi-decent, it is so beyond being even close to good ugh! I made the dress to match and my sewing skills are so terrible. I guess I just have to keep at it until I get the hang of it and it becomes second nature to me :P

And then here's a picture of Sigmund on his bed snuggled up :) lol!

Aw thanks :) I swear though after I'm definitely buying carriers and never making another one!! I had this idea in my head that I'd be able to make carriers for every holiday or to match different outfits or something.....and now that I see how unbelievably hard it is, no WAY!!! LOL!

The carrier and matching dress is amazing, Meredith! It looks perfect to me. And look at poor Sigmund. He's mad cause he wants to get in the carrier, and wear the matching dress. He's so beautiful!!

Awww thanks!! It really is SO far from perfect. I think I need to invent my own pattern for a carrier bag if I'm ever going to make one again. It's just too difficult for me and my limited sewing skills :-?

LOL!!!! I know that's exactly what he's thinking too!! I think he's upset cuz we're back in the condo and he's the only dog now. He misses my mom's doggies a lot, poor baby. I've been pampering him a bit more to lift his spirits a bit. I keep telling him he just needs to wait a little longer before he can have his new sister!! I need to get working on his Christmas outfit though. I don't care how many yards of fabric I go through, I'm definitely making him a giant santa suit for the holidays!!!! I think I'll make the little Chi a teeny elf outfit. That might be a cute match hehe

Wow...I was just looking at some tutorials for purses online and of all places I find this link for of all things, a cupcake purse, and I realized WHAT I did wrong for the bag! I was looking at the pictures in this tutorial for putting the lining in, because that's what I just couldn't for the life of me figure out (gah!). So knowing what I know after looking at the pictures, I think I *might* try and make another bag...i'd love to invent my own pattern though but it's a little early in my skill level to be thinking about that lol!!

I can't believe I look at some pictures and it's like oh DUH but reading the instructions I'm like what the................ I'm a verrry visual learner though so I guess it proves it!!! *sigh*

From the pictures, you can't tell it's not store bought. That's how perfect it appears. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. It's so easy to find flaws in our own work, that no one else would even notice. I think you would do great at making your own pattern.

Awww, he wants his play mates back. The extra pampering always seems to lift their spirits. I've been doing the same for Lexie lately. She has been so down with this whole heat cycle thing. They feel so special when Mom pampers them. I bet he will be so happy when the new Chi baby gets home. I just know there will be the perfect Angel in the upcoming litter.

I bet the Santa suit will be awesome, and Sigmund will be the best looking Santa around. I can just see the new Chi baby wearing the Elf suit. How cute!!

Great job Meredith! I love the material!! Black and white are one of my favorite color combinations! Teresa's right, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You've made great strides in the sewing department. You should be giving yourself a huge pat on the back. That carrier doesn't look exactly easy! They're beautiful! And so is the pic of Sigmund on his bed! He looks so cuddly!

Sigmund looks like a total mush in that picture. I would be down there snuggling with him or leaning on him while I read or watched tv. Boy is he going to have fun when you get your chi. :)

aww thanks :) When I was little I loved sewing and sewed myself little dolls and stuffed toys (lol). So just recently that it's in the somewhat near future for getting my chi, I wanted to relearn sewing so I could make the baby clothes! My grandmothers are both extremely talented seamstresses. One is really old but the other is a younger grandma and still sews and makes amazing things. She taught me how to make my first dress and now I've just kind of taking things on my own. I'm trying to perfect my skills enough so that I can give people things as gifts! Right now I feel too self-conscious about my stuff I guess...I just feel like it isn't as good as it could be. I know my skills should be a lil better by the holidays so I can give some things out as presents!!! Thanks again :) You should get into it! It's a fun hobby :)
