Help us choose an Organization.

Kelly and I would like to introduce a new line of harnesses that will be presented on her website. We have decided to team together on a project, and are very excited about it. The new line will be called, TLC. Teresa, Lexie & Chance. Tender Loving Care. The reason for the new line is that we'd like to donate some of the proceeds to a charity. I will be designing, and donating some of the fabric, and embellishments for the harnesses, and Kelly will use her expertise to create them. We will be donating 25% of each sell to the Organization chosen. Where we'd like you guys to come in is helping us decide on an Organization. Here are 3 that we've narrowed down, and you guys get to choose from there. Everyone here is so helpful, always has something knowledgeable to offer, and such a great group of people that what better place to come for this decision.

Yes, it will make a bigger impact if we stick with one for the time being until everything gets moving.

But I think there are so many other breeds that we might get a better reaction if they had a choice. Not that we've completely ruled out going with just one for now. But you guys brought up some good points to consider.

If we go with a choice, we'd have a designated place for each of the charity contributions until it reached a certain amount.

Well, after I got the first harnesses for Lexie & Chance, I was so excited to finally have found the perfect one. I spent months trying to find something that would work for us. I was so tired of all the clips, and clasps, trying to find something that fit right, the list goes on. I don't have a fenced in yard, so I walk the lil ones daily. After Chance walked out of his last harness (before Kelly's) I was so "nervous" every time I took him out. I also didn't like the red rub marks that the old harnesses were making on their underside. My enthusiasim with her harnesses are well deserved.

From talking to Kelly I knew her website was pretty new, and that she was selling on eBay primarily. She was hoping to be able to make the switch. I continued to email her to give her credit where credit was due. Not long ago she emailed me to tell me that she appreciated the encouragement, and felt like my reviews had really helped her make a go of her website this time. I think her product sells itself.

We were emailing back and forth one day, and she asked what I thought about a project. She said she thought I'd be great at designing, and wanted my feedback on introducing a new line to raise money for a Pet Organization. I was immediately sold. It sounded very exciting, and we took off from there. Her original idea was me picking out the stuff, designing the look, she would buy the materials, and would give me one of each of my designs for helping out. I wanted to be able to contribute more, so I offered to pay for the initial supplies. For now we'll be donating 25% of each sell to the designated Charity, and using the rest to continue to buy supplies, etc. Hopefully at some point our contributions can increase.

Can I suggest a design? Maybe you already had this in mind, but I have two things I love- one is cupcakes- if you did a cupcake pattern with a little cupcake button that would be adorable! Or, I love pineapples/palm trees/coconuts, anything tropical I think is gorgeous- a pattern like that with a pineapple or palm tree button would be adorable!

No spikes just yet. It may take some time. Are you wanting actual spikes that stick up from the harness, or just a spike print material? I haven't seen any spike material, but that doesn't mean that I can't find it eventually. If you are wanting actual spikes sticking up, I'll have to ask Kelly if that's possible. It would probably have to be rivets of some sort.

I think the brown on the bad to the bone would look awesome against Luke's black coloring.

I tried to do some with a girls and boy version since I have both and know what it's like to look for boys stuff. It's not as easy to find as girls. I think everyone will like that.

Faye, I can't sew a lick. Well, I can mend, and sew a button if that counts. lol I bought all the material, and the embellishments to go with it, told Kelly how I envisioned each one, and she sewed them together exactly as I pictured them. Team effort. I also name them, and make the description.

I have a little bit of a tough time too with colors because Bosco is brindle and sometimes patterns look too busy on him with his multi-coloredness! I really love Bad to the Bone and I'm going to get it for him. I think that it will compliment his brown and white accents.

Thank you!! Those colors are definitely good on him. Here is a picture of him in his "firefighter" harness that Jane made for him ... we get so many compliments on that harness (thank you again, Jane!!).

Oh yes, I remember that harness now. This way Bosco will have creations from Jane and Kelly! That is definitely his color.
