Aw! I love all of these. Makana's so cute and Pomai is darling in the squint photo. 8) Your yard looks like a dog's dream come true, not to mention it's IN HAWAII!!! LOL
Abarenbo has the sweetest face, and it shows up so well in these close-ups.
Is that a rock behind Makana? It's huge!
The one with Alana in the backround is precious.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hercules, Bren, and Barb!
I haven't been taking too many pictures lately, I guess because the weather hasn't been that great?? I'm not really too sure. Maybe I'm just being lazy. LOL.
But I finally decided to take close up head shots of Abarenbo since I don't really have any of him like that. I thought they came out pretty cute.
Barb, which picture has the rock you're talking about in it?

This picture Barb? If you mean this picture, yeppers, that's a rock in the background. And it's not at the beach, just at our house, LOL. We've got a bunch of them in the back of the yard flushed up against the wall. It's like cooking rocks, if you want to put things in the imu you use rocks like those.

This rock. LOL We don't have rock mountains like this by houses. And if there are, they call them names like, "High Rock" or they're nice camps way out in the wilderness. Or they're either on the cliff where the highway is and then just in certain places or right in the water. You have what's called a "million dollar view" here--just beautiful. :D

Wow you do have a million dollar view.
Can you explain the cooking rocks and imu?
I'm lost trying to figure it out without asking...thus appearing dumb.
But.....oh well?

Ooooohhhhhhhh, that rock! HEHE, I just know it as a mountain, LOL. The "high rock" as you call is pretty close to where we live, but that's the left side mountain, so pretty much the end. On the right side it's a little higher and goes much longer. Thanks Barb, I've learned something new today!
Hey Bev, long ago when there were no stoves and such Hawaiians would dig a pit, and put those rocks in it, heat it, throw the food like pig, laulau etc, cover it and let it stay in there as if it were an oven.

I really need to get to Hawaii to see the rest of the rock. LOL For sure though, any pics are appreciated of the Island.

Do you still do this on special occasions? I have a friend who is a mauri from New Zealand who does this same thing once a year, he calls it a hungi, its tastes amazing but takes forever to cook.
