View Full Version : Ring a bell/potty time

Anyone have success tying a bell to the door and training your dog to ring it when he has to go oustide to go??

Mine just go to the back door when they want out. And if I don't see them back there, Hobie will come to the living room and go to the front door and stand there and then I let him out the back door.

nope, mine are exclusively trained for indoors.
they only potty outside when we go for our daily walk.

I have never head of this, sounds ingenious, hope it works. Please keep us posted.

Robert knew how to do this. Sigmund just whines. I like that he whines or comes to find me. I'm still deciding if I'm going to teach my Chichi :)

Mine have a doggie door to the backyard and they have potty pads inside for when it's raining, too cold, or it's late at night and Ms. Precious is too lazy to do downstairs and outside to potty.

I would definitely try it, I've heard of people doing it with success.

i have chimes hanging on my door, they dont ring it but when they hear them they come running to the door go potty

mine are the same with the front door keys.
I have so many keyrings that when they jingle the pups come a runnin!
they are not trained to go outside they just like it when they go out with us!

Hi all - I haven't been on here in ages - I spend most of my time reading all the Rawfeeding posts on my yahoo group.

He started this himself. I have a baby monitor on the little wall next to the door so I can hear it upstairs when I'm playing LOTRO on the computer.
