We had a very scary thing happen last night. I had taken Stuie to the vet for his regular vaccinations and about 2 hours later we were in the backyard, he was playing and acting normal but then I noticed his little face was very swollen. His face continued to swell so bad within a short period of time. I took him to the emergency vet, and by that time his little face looked like a Sharpe dog (dont know how to spell that) the vet said he possibly had reaction to vaccine or maybe something bit him?? They watched him for an hour gave him Benadryl and cortisone within the hour he was better so we took him home..as soon as we got back home he started to break out in hives, his ears were hot and red his paws were swollen so we took him back to vet..they then gave him some Epinephrine and said if would be best for him to stay overnite to observe him. anyhow we picked him up this morning and thank God he is fine. But, i just wondered if anyone has ever had something like this happen to them.. very very scary...

Something like this happened to Alana last year. But she got stung by a bee right on her nose. She got real swollen and her body turned really red. So we took her to the vet and he gave her epinephrine too. And she was much better after that. Turns out she's allergic to bee stings. How's little Stuie?

Hi. oh! I'm glad to hear Stuie's fine today. That must have scared you so bad. Poor little guy. This also happend to Roman with his second puppy shots in the middle of the night. His head was the size of a baseball and he was screaming. He was surprised that Roman was still able to breath since he was so swollen. They gave him the same things that Stuie had only it never occured twice. We brought him home at 5 am after being at the emergeny vet with him most of the night. They are as certain as could be that it was the Lepto vaccine, so I'm making sure that Elle doesn't get them. I hope everything continues to look good for Stuie.
