Hi, my Coco is 7 months old and she is sooo stubborn!! (Like her mommy :)) She knows she gets treats when she goes into her crate on her own, upon command; however, the bribery will not work any more. I have associated specific treats with going to her crate. They're her favorite. Still, when she hears "crate" or sees those treats, she hides!! I know she just hates me leaving her, but I was wondering if there are any other tips or advice for this situation-please?? Am I just expecting too much from a 7 month old??

Hmm well my Ryleigh is only close to 4 months. He knows when im getting ready to leave because the second i put my belt and shoes on he will run and jump on the couch and "pretend" to sleep...it is sooo cute. He knows it is crate time. I just pick him up and then walk him over to the crate and put him down in front of it and say 'in' and he walks in all sad like :-| But he doesnt whine anymore. I say just get rid of the treats if they are not working...or if she goes in there just because and not when she is needed to then dont give her the treats then. Only when you command her to. Good luck keep us posted!:headbang:

Hi
We just let Casey have free run of the house because we've toilet trained her to use piddle pads that are kept in our bathroom in a little kitty pan.
We did have a crate in the beginning but soon gave into the joy of sharing a bed with a little Chihuahua. When we are out she just seems to sleep on her chair. We couldn't stand the sad face or the wimpering. I was much better with my children LOL, not that I tried to crate them when I went out or anything!

We shared our bed with Coco for awhile- but now it's the only place she has accidents!! She was wonderful with potty training, almost never goes in the house- I was blessed- but, after being in our bed for 20 or so minutes, she pees the bed.:( Even after I just take her potty outside, she still pees. I don't get it....anyone else have this problem with bed-wetting dogs??
