This is in honor of my little longhair dachshunds.
I lost my Eddie (Edwina) in January after a brief illness. So unexpected and so heartbreaking. My little Freddie (Frederika) who was already blind and showing signs of senility was left alone and missed her buddy greatly. Soon thereafter, I adopted my little chi, Ozzie, to keep Freddie company. Freddie's condition continued to deteriorate, and when it became apparent that she was also in pain, unable to either see or hear, and no longer able to control herself, my vet determined it would probably be best that Freddie go to meet up with her lost friend, Eddie. I lost my Eddie on January 16, 2007. Freddie joined her buddy at the Rainbow Bridge on April 27, 2007.
I had Eddie 14 years, and Freddie 13 years. They had wonderful lives and truly enriched mine. They were the best little dogs one could have ever hoped for.
I hope they are running and playing at the Bridge and that Freddie is able to see and hear again. I'm so glad they are not in pain any longer. I will miss them more than words could ever express.
