I am about one year old, and I love sleeping with mom and dad. They keep me warm. Very night I would crawl down under the covers between my mom or dad's legs. That is where its warm. Sometimes they would wake me up because they can't move. I hate when they do that. But I would always sleeps under the covers with them. I never sleeps on the floor or my own bed even though my mom gave me one. My bed only a place for my toys. I want to move away from sleeping with my parents but how will I learn to do so.

Hi Ventibear.... I am Nala and I also sleep with my mommy and daddy. I love it there! I say you just stay in their bed with them where it's nice and warm. Plus when they wake you up in the morning you can get those belly rubs that feel so good. I always roll over when they wake me up so they can rub my belly. They think I am soooo cute when I do that.
Plus I am like my daddys alarm clock. When mommy comes in in the morning and says "goodmorning babies" to me and daddy.... I come out from under the covers and give her kisses and then lick daddy's face to wake him up. Then I go back to snuggling under the warm covers until they have to leave for work.
Don't you just love the snuggly covers, our own beds never feel as good.

To be honest sometimes Miko will sleep with us for a little bit then she will go in her crate we put a little velvet like pad in it we got at petsmart. We believe in crate training. It's not a punishment it's a secure place for them to relax, and you don't have to worry all night about rolling over on them lol.

My chi's have never slept in my bad for fear of crushing them, but I would love them to sometimes. If I layin in the morning they came up for a cuddle.

Sammi Girl sleeps in the bed with me and I will let Happy Boy sleep in the bed with us as soon as he gets settled and feels secure and knows where the pads are. I bought an extra pad tray to keep near the bed so if he has to go I can put him right on it.

I hug them against me and I scratch belly etc. Sammi scratches the sheets a little and turns circles before she settles down under the covers. Then she licks her paws and hums to herself for awhile. Then I hear a big sigh of contentment just before she falls asleep. I wouldn't miss this for the world.

I've never been afraid that I would roll over on her. She moves around as I turn over and I have a sense of where she is even when I am sleeping.

I think it makes us more of a pack because we sleep in the bed together.

2chiwawa that sounds wonderfull, Im soo jealous, I sleep walk and move around a lot in the bed so I would be scared of crushing them or chucking them out on the floor, Im sure they would be ok if it wasnt for me. LOL

I am Elle. We sleep with mommy and daddy in the bed, but once in a while Roman sleeps in the living room with Sheba. We layer ourselves according to how cold it is, but mostly sleep on top of the down blanket, under the bed spread. We have "first chair" and "second chair" (upper and lower) because I (Elle) am in charge of my brother Roman, and I get growlie if he gets in my space. He respects me so much, even though neither of us bite...we just grumble to each other. ha ha ha Sometimes we cuddle together too.

And when mommy is at the computer at night and says she is sleepy, my brother Roman gets up off of daddy's lap and heads to bed. He also does this is he hears the computer get turned off without anyone saying anything. He likes to sleep near the bottom of the bed, or with his head out of the covers between mommy and daddy. :)

LOL. Sammi Girl gets off the couch and trots to the bed when she hears me turn off the tv in the living room. Sometimes she makes a pee pee, takes a drink and then trots into the bedroom and up on the bed. If we are already in the bedroom watching tv she will hop out of bed when I turn off the tv in there and to go to the living room to get a drink and pee before we settle down for the night. All on her own.

Hi Pip, well of course if you sleep walk etc. you want them to be safe. So you are being a good pack leader and protecting them at night. Do you get nap time together on the couch?

We sleep with Mommy and Daddy every night, we've never been crushed.

We've learned to roll with them. Mommy is really bad about moving around, but if you get up right between her belly and Daddy's back it's fairly safe.

Plus.. Mommy will scratch your belly until she falls asleep!!! Our routine every night is Mommy or Daddy telling us it's night-night time, then while Mommy washes her face and brushes her teeth we snuggle with Daddy. Then once Mommy gets in the bed we have our cookie as we settle down. Hercules likes to park his booty right across Mommy's neck ( sometimes she gets a little upset, especially if she's trying to watch tv and she can't see!) Hummie likes to take his cookie and dive under the covers and eat his cookie. After we finish our cookies, Hercules goes to the right side of Mommy, Hummie to the left. We are all very particular were we sleep!

Sometimes if we hear Palmer the kitty walking on the covers to purr to Mommy, we rush out of the covers to growl at him to scare him off. We don't want Palmer to sleep that close.. he can sleep at the tipy top of the mattress or pillow, but NO snuggling with Mommy!

Then in the morning Mommy lets us sleep in on days that she works, then right before she feeds us breakfast she sings the "Wakey, wakey, eggs and baky" song to us and searchs for us under the covers.. we wiggle and get morning belly rubs and kisses. Then it's breakfast time!

Well, it sure does sound like most of our Chi's sleep in bed with us. How about three! All the J's sleep in bed with the Hubby and me. Jenny does just like you Sammi Girl does Faye but the only difference is that she does not go and get a drink. Now the boys' they go outside just before we go to sleep. Jessie goes outside and then I pick him up and Jenny follows me into the bedroom just after I say "Come on Jenny it is time to go night night." Jake, usually stays with the Hubby until he goes to bed which is way past my bedtime. Jenny all most always sleeps down between my legs and Jessie sleeps by my side. There are times when I wake up in the morning and Jake has his feet sticking in my back and I have to move him. I think that if they were not there I would get very cold and have to put more blankets on the bed.I would surly miss them very much.

Chiluv, my father used to call a real cold night a "two cat night" meaning it was cold enough to have two cats in the bed instead of one. I guess every night at your house is a "three chihuahua night". LOL

Renata, Sammi has to chase the cats off the bed too. The gray cat won't even try to sleep in the bed. Sometimes C.J. waits until Sammi is sound asleep and then comes to the bed and sleeps on top of the covers near my chest. Very cozy for me. But if Sammi even suspects he is there she shoots out from under the covers and chases him right off the bed. Poor boy.

I also think it is hilarious if I move in a way that Sammi does not like. She will not hesitate to growl just a little at Mommy and remind Mommy that she has definite preferences of what part of Mommy she wants to press against. Makes you wonder who is training who.

All my babies sleep in the bed with us, by the way, I told you I was about to separate from my husband on Chrismas time, I have to tell you that things are changed from december on, so we are talked toghether, and we decided to stay toghether, I was just afraid to tell the news to you, because we've had some up and down, but it seems we are going on.
In any case if I don't have the contact with my babies, because sometimes could happend that they sllep to my mother, I miss them so so much, and they fill the same for me, because when I go to pick them up they are more happy to see me, Polpetta laghs she smiles and she shows her thieves, and Cannella kisses all my face.

Isn't it delicious to have the chihuahuas in the bed. :)

Did you mean that Polpetta shows her "teeth" ? They all sound so happy to see you. I'm sure they love you very much.:flower:

For the love of....pets!

Since October 12, that's the day I picked up Gizmo from Dallas, I have been sleeping on the floor with Gizmo. Can't sleep on the bed because it is too high, and if Gizmo ever fell from the bed..he would have broken legs. So my hubby gets our queen size bed all to himself, and I get the darn floor. But its okay. This way, all my 4 pets can sleep with me. Gets kinda crowded....but when they sleep all around me, I feel like I'm in heaven:) After 3 weeks on the floor, I almost died of a sore back. But now I sleep on a futon I bought from Ikea. Should of done that earlier though, instead of ruining my back.

Gizmo only likes to sleep under the covers when he's shaking and cold during the night. But once he's warmed up, he'll get up and leave me to sleep in his strawberry house. And when he gets cold, he'll come back to me. He does this like 10 times throughout the night.
My other Lucky, on the otherhand, loves to sleep under the blanket. He'll come up to my cheek, and then wait for me to open up the blanket like a tunnel so he can get in and go to sleep. Then after a while, his "hamster" smell takes over all my blanket:) Gizmo doesn't smell like anything...so far. But one things for sure...his breath stinks soooo bad! He needs some puppy breath mints. Whew!!!

ROFLOL... Lucky and his 'hamster smell' and Gizmo and his 'bad breath'.. !!

My cat, Palmer has bad breath too! Not to mention he wants to get so close that his whiskers tickle my face and drive me crazy! I'm almost glad when Hercules hears him purr and chases him off my chest, cause I don't have the heart to push him away.

Kimi used to sleep on the floor, but lately took to using the guest bed in the other room until I go to sleep. Then he'll sit at the side of my bed and whiiiiiiine ever so quitely until I pick him up. After that its two laps around the bed sniffing, then he burrows under the covers all the way to the foot of the bed.

On occassion he'll wake me up pacing around, which means he needs to be put down (HIGH bed!) to go use the mat. He'll come trotting back after a minute, sit, whine, pickup, repeat :)

Everything I had read on the Nylabones - they seem to be just fine. They clean their teeth and freshen their breath. Just look into it and see what you think. Nala LOVES them and so do we cause then her breath smells so good.

Seems Bella has had an accident or two over at my gf's since she doesn't announce the fact she needs to get down. That, or she's so small that going over to the other corner of the bed seems like its far enough away from her sleeping space to 'go'...

Since I'm now living at the shelter I have no babies to sleep with me any more:cry2: And NOW I have a very hard time sleeping at night. I sure miss their soft cozy warm bodies cuddled up to me. What's interesting is that all of our breathing would get in 'sinc' and that makes for a good nights sleep...for *ALL* of us.

[LEFT]. Then I hear a big sigh of contentment just before she falls asleep.

I love that contented sigh sound too and the snoring........ Sully sleeps in her crate at the side of our bed, Fynn sleeps on our bed in a snuggler and Rosie sleeps in the lounge ( her choice) on her armchair.

Hahahahah since reading about all your chis sleepijng in your beds I decided I was missing out, so I sneeked Polly up into bed one night and she has now been up there in my bed as a fab foot warmer for 5 nights and no problems at all, she has not flown out of the bed when I have slept walked, but last night did bark at me and my hubby got up to see what was gong on to find me sleep walking down stairs so really she is good in my bed as she let him know I was up and about. She will be in my bed from now on. LOL

Hi Pip, I am so glad that you took a chance and let Polly in the bed. That is wonderful that she "told" your husband that you were sleep walking. Did she sleep up against you? Isn't it warm!!

Let us know how it goes for all three of you.

I too am happy that you took the baby in bed with you. Now you will never go back to sleeping alone. Very smart that she woke your husband up to let him know.
