Hello, everyone! I used to post regularly on the forums when I first got my Binky way back in April 2003... I see that some of "the ol' gang" is still around, and there are lots of new members. That's great!

Since I last posted, my life has changed like you wouldn't believe...
I went through an ugly divorce and had to spend some time in a women's shelter, during which time my ex-jerk SOLD my computer! (I STILL don't have a new one, by the way... but I do have use of one during the week for now.) Even, worse, he GAVE Binky away! (I couldn't take her to the shelter.) It was a big mess, but after about a month apart, I found her and got her back. Whew! Anyway, I am now back in Texas (I was in Ohio for 10 years), very happily married to an old friend - my best friend - from my home town.

Binky just turned 5 years old on New Year's Eve, and she's doing great. I think she much prefers the mild Texas winter to all the snow we usually had in Ohio every year - although it's been pretty cold here, too, lately. She still has her big sister, Misty (sheltie/border collie mix), and since May she has had a BIG little brother named Jack (a 10-month-old red heeler). I don't have any way to post pictures these days, but hopefully I will have my own computer again soon.

It feels good to be back again. I've missed club chi, and look forward to getting "back in the loop" as much as I can.

~Angela~ (Binky's mom)

Hi Angela...
Well I am one of the new members here, my name is Debra.
Welcome back! And my best to you for dealing with all you have and getting back on your feet. I was also very happy to hear you got Binky back. That alone must have made your world so much better.

Hey, Debra! Yeah, I was going crazy when I didn't know where she was. He kept telling me that she was at his grandmother's house, and that he would bring her back... only he NEVER brought her back. I started getting suspicious real quick. I found out that she had NEVER been at his grandmother's house, and when I confronted him about it, he wouldn't tell me anything. Thankfully, somebody happened to mention her to one of my kids... that's how I found her. What's really bad is that he had given her to some "friends" of the family, and THEY didn't bother call me or talk to me about it in any way! They didn't put up a fight when I went to get her back, though. I am thankful for that.

I was wondering how smooth it went when you went to get her back. I am soooo happy that you did. :flower: That is so heartbreaking. As if you weren't already dealing with enough cr*p.

And thank you.... Nala is my first chi - I am so in love with my little girl. She brightens everyday for me. That's why I was so relieved to hear you got Binky back because I know how much these little guys can fill your heart with happiness. I am getting her step-brother next week, coming from the same breeder in Idaho (same daddy too).

LOL... that is so funny! My husband always says you are only as old as you feel, anyway.:)

I hope to visit Italy someday. It looks gorgeous in the movies!

It's wonderful to meet you, and thanks for the welcome back.

Yes, it was! I had been so afraid I wouldn't find her, and so worried about how she was doing. She was not well-socialized as a puppy, and she was scared of EVERYONE from the time I got her at 16mos. It tore me up to imagine what she must have been going through.

-By the way, it's taken almost 4 years, but she is finally learning to trust my kids and let them hold her. My new husband is the first man I've ever seen her allow to touch her... and after he had only been around a few weeks! She still doesn't approach anyone besides me on her own, but she doesn't run away anymore when my family members come around or reach out to pet her or pick her up. Anyone else, though, WATCH OUT! She either runs away or barks her head off, even nips at their ankles sometimes. But, she has come a long way. I'm so proud of her!

Angela, I remember a picture of you and Binky. You were holding her in a sling type thing. I think it might have been on a road trip type thing. Can't remember why the pix but I do remember the pix itself.
So glad you're back. And good to hear that Binky is progressing. Poor gal.
Can I ask, where did you find her after all of this?

Oh, yeah! The sling! (I haven't used it in awhile.) I think that picture was taken at an Easter egg hunt.

Some people in the church we went to had her, believe it or not! One of their kids was talking to one of my kids and accidentally said something about her... of course, my son asked questions, and he told me when he got home that they had had her all along! I immediately got on the phone and asked them if they had her, and they admitted they did, so I drove to their house immediately and got my baby back. These were people that I had known for years and trusted, and they didn't even have the decency to tell me they had my dog, when EVERYONE knew I was looking for her. I felt very betrayed, but mostly just thankful to have her back.

Good way to look at it, Angela. :flower:
I can't believe you knew these people for years and they STILL did this to you! That is just WRONG on so many levels. Kudos to your son. Has he thought about a career as a detective. ;)

Hey Angela, It's so good to see you back! I've been thinking about you all this time. Wow! You've been through a lot, but it sounds like you are now doing great, and especially having Binky back and getting together with your friend--Congratulations. I can't believe how those people kept Binky from you. :( But that must have been a joyous reunion to get her back in your arms.

Looking forward to hearing all about you and Binky again! Barb :)

Wow.. Angela.. That's awful someone from your church who knew you were looking for your dog and didn't surrender her over earlier!!! Shame on them! Glad your son was able to find her for you. Hope you'll be able to post pics of Binky soon.
So glad to have you back on CC!!:flower:
