I read at another forum getting a flat screen is easier on the eyes, does anyone know if that's true??
I'm thinking in about a year or two, we upgrade ourselves from our normal monitor to a flat screen...ya know, since I can be here for hours on the comp and not even blink..which i saw on the local news, blinking is good every once in a while :D

I definately think its true, I dont have one but have used flat screen monitors and I think that your eyes adjust easily to it.
The refresh frequency (flicking) on normal monitors is so fast that you cant see it but you can change the speed if you want - its in the advanced settings, the default setting is 60 hertz. A higher refresh frequency reduces any flicker on your screen, but choosing a setting that is too high for your monitor can make your display unusable and cause damage to your hardware. Your monitor may support a higher setting, you should check if it does before changing it.

That's good 411 Terri! When you're on your computer you should take a break and cover your eyes with your hands then slowly let the light back in, just to give your eyes a rest.

I have a flat panel screen and love it....doesn't seem as hard on my eyes, but taking a breather every once in a while is a good tip...

I have a flat screen and don't have any problems with my eyes like I did in college with the round type. I had even gone to the eye doctor because my eye was twitching all the time. He said it was caused from drafting on the computer. We didn't have flat back then in the "olden days". LOL
