I'm dropping Binky off at the vet tomorrow (Thursday) morning between 8 and 8:30 to be spayed, and she will have a hernia taken care of, also. I will be picking her up around 4:30 in the afternoon. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers! :)

Heuser and Tally said to say "Get Well Soon Binky!!!"

She'll be back before you know it and just fine, I'm sure!

We'll keep her (and you) in our thoughts today!

Well, I picked Binky up at 3:00 today, and she is doing fine. Turns out she had ingroinal hernias on both sides (we only knew about the bigger one), so she had both of them repaired in addition to the spay, heartworm check, and booster shots. Poor poochie got the works today!

The vet said that the sooner she starts eating, the better. So far she hasn't felt like it, but she has been drinking water, so that's good. I'm keeping her in her crate for now, so she will rest and the other dogs will leave her alone.

Thanks for remembering her today! :flower:

Glad to hear that Binky is recovering and getting better already! She sure had a busy day, huh? That's a good idea keeping her seperated so she can get some rest-I'm sure that she will be back to her old self really soon!

Hows Binky feeling today,do you have to take her back to have stitches removed?

Thanks for asking, and sorry I didn't respond sooner; it's been a busy weekend! Binky is eating and getting around well now, pretty much back to her old self, but still not rough-housing with the bigger dogs like she usually does. (And I'm watching closely to make sure she doesn't!) :)

Yesterday (Saturday) I discovered a big knot (about the size of a quarter) on her left side, just behind her shoulder. It wasn't there before she went to the vet, so I'm guessing it's probably a reaction to an injection. The vet was supposed to call Saturday morning to check on her, and they didn't :x ...so I called the office when I discovered that knot, and they were already closed for the weekend - AND it's the ONE weekend out of the month that they don't offer emergency service! (new policy) SO, I decided to just keep a close eye on it and call the vet tomorrow (Monday) and ask about it. It feels awful to me, but Binky seems to be okay, so, hopefully it's no big deal.

I do have to take her back to get her stitches removed, probably on March 2.

Im so glad to hear that Binky is recovering well. :flower:
I hope that the knot you discovered isnt serious. Thats strange that there is no emergency on-call vet, is there another vet that you can call to talk too?

Tally got a big knot on the side of her neck from her distemper vaccination so that sounds like Binky might have had a reaction to a shot too...

Glad she is feeling okay and she'll be rough-housing soon enough!

Murphy's law that the vet's office was closed right when you really needed to ask them a question-what a pain!

I called the vet's office today, and they said the lump was most likely a reaction to a shot, and it's probably nothing serious. So, I'm just continuing to keep an eye on her. I do think the lump felt a little smaller today. :) She gets her stitches out on March 2nd.

I'm glad Binky is doing well. She will feel much better when her stitches come out.

Do you mind if I think of her as The Binkster. She is just so pretty and I love her name sooo much.

Gracie and Sammi Girl send lots of kisses to The Binkster.
